My Story

Currently

2 years in Spain and I’m back in the US and hitting the ground running with the second issue of my coffee table book series, finding my footing again in the local scene, and learning more about what’s popping off these days. (Is that still a phrase?)

As of right now I am a freelance consultant and lead designer running his own small studio while remaining open to a really great full-time spot if it shows up. In both of those spaces I’m focused on helping brands find their voice, amplify it, improve the internal processes that make all that magic happen, and maybe make some magic of my own while I’m at it.

In the midst of it all I’m really just a kid who loves getting into the pit at the hardcore and punk shows, and then gorging myself on the latest stunning cartoon series broken up by a few late night Mortal Kombat matches. I learned how to let that kid live in me and be a creative leader by pursuing the things my 12 year old self would have pursued.

  • Producing local rock shows with rockstars

  • Creating zines and just sending them

  • Making every kind of gig poster you can think of

  • Taking photos of EVERYTHING

  • Drawing constantly

  • Hacking what I can (Adobe CS anyone?) to create everything I could dream of

The whole time I thought I was just making stuff I liked but I was learning how to be resourceful, promote myself, build a persona, and create a community around what I love.

After some time in the ad world of NYC, I moved out to my dream coast, the west coast. 10 years later I eventually ended up fleeing to Spain to be with my now wife where I learned a bit of Spanish plus figured out how to network and work while overseas. Now, I’m settling in Nashville, TN and learning what it’s like to be a southern belle.

I’ve learned that you have to go make the thing you want to happen, happen. Because no one else will do it for you.

It’s the little things that matter most.
